Our BAKER family goes back to 1816. The original spelling of their surname was BAKKER. Hendrikus Jans BAKKER, emmigrated to the United States with his 2nd wife and
6 of his serviving children in 1884. His 1st wife, Jantje Berends Deilen BAKKER, had died in Uithuizen, Groninger,
Netherland in 1878. They had 7 children between 1854 and 1872. He and his 2nd wife, Tryntje van de BERG, had 1 child in 1879.

Hendrikus first settled in Holland, MI.
By June 1990, he and his wife were living in Muskegon, Muskegon County, MI.

Hendrikus's son, Jan Krol, married Trijntje "Kate" OOSTERBROEK in
Mar 1884.
